Cavria, our beloved historical chalet at about 1500 meters above Carisolo in the Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta in the Dolomites of Italy. My great great grand father and brothers built this chalet in 1890 as a place to take animals to summer pasture. In the 50 and 60s when many people emigrated across the world, places like this fell into disrepair. I’m proud to say that now Cavria has been restored to its former glory and then some – while maintaining the rustic dignity that makes such places special. My father and mother have been rebuilding the place over the last 20 years and I’m proud to have contributed some small part.

A Rustic Treasure

Cavria is a restored rustic chalet – a place where pastoral folk brought their cows and goats to graze during the summer season. My father recounts many wonderful summers driving his animals for weeks on end.

About

Cavria is located above Carisolo at the nexus of  Val Genova – a majestic waterfall-filled valley at the base of the Adamello and Presanella glaciers – and Val Rendena a wider open valley in which the famous ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio is located. The famous Dolomiti di Brenta tower across the valley and offer the stunning scenery from Cavria’s front door.
