Welcome to Cavria1890. Here’s why I call it Cavria 1890. It was built in 1890 by my great grand uncles. Here’s the beautiful inscription that they carved into it. M and A stand for Marco Ambrosi, my ancestor. Our family clan nickname is Marcàsc – roughly translated as “The Marco’s” because many of my ancestors bore the name Marco. The geraniums are traditional – all over the Alps and the little saint (we’re not religious) is the traditional Sant’Antoni dal Porcèl. Saint Anthony with a Pig. Just the right amount of high and low for my tastes.
